About CAHA

The Colorado Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) is the state governing body for youth hockey in Colorado.  CAHA's mission is to maintain the integrity of the game for the enjoyment of all.

CAHA and the Colorado Avalanche have partnered to "grow the game" in Colorado through a series of programs and funding initiatives.  CAHA and the Avs are working to increase the participation in hockey across all age groups and assisting our member organizations in developing their association membership.

New This Year - Neck Guards are Required

USAH has approved legislation requiring the use of neck laceration protection for players in all age classifications, other than adults, in games and practices, as well as for on-ice officials under the age of 18, effective August 1, 2024. For clarity, the requirement includes players in the youth, girls, and junior age classifications plus players in all six disabled hockey disciplines.

Rule enforcement will be the same as any equipment violation - a team warning followed by a ten minute misconduct for any violation after the initial warning.

Commercially designed and manufactured neck protectors are required. No alterations are allowed.
